First about the Dale’s history.
The Dale was built in 1931, inordinate in that the construction took place during the Great Depression when construction projects nationwide had come to a screeching halt. The Dale was built in half a year with 90 workers showing up each day to meet the opening deadline.
Famous guests have stayed at the Dale including The Three Stooges and Gene Autry. If you’re wondering why celebs came to Holdrege, it was pre-interstate. Travelers relied on the US Routes 6 and 34 to cross America.
The 73 guest rooms at the Dale were converted into apartments in the 1980s. Today the building has 25 apartments and 5 AIRBNB guest rooms, all beautifully updated.
Our AIRBNBs feature hybrid gel memory foam beds, FREE Wifi and Internet, a Keurig coffee maker (we provide the coffee pods!), and refrigerator. Our super sumptuous beds are made up with thick mattress pads, 4 pillows, and a plush duvet, plus high thread-count sheets. We provide hotel amenities—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and bar soap—plus thick bath towels. Oh yes, and there’s a hairdryer and a robe too.
You are welcome to use the laundry room in the Dale basement. The machines take quarters. The 2nd floor community room has a ping pong table and large screen TV. Sit back, relax, enjoy.
The lobby doors are open from 9AM to 6PM. You will need to take your access card with you to re-enter when the doors are locked.
AIRBNB guests park for free in our private parking lot. Ask our GM for directions.
Check in is 3PM and checkout is 11AM. When you depart, leave your keys in the drop box at the GM’s door.
